installed as part of the Charman Prize, 2019, artists were asked to respond to “Where Fate Leads Us”, or “Quo Fata Ferunt”, the national motto of my home country, Bermuda.

its form is inspired by a resilient palm tree in a hurricane.

fatal alchemy is pictured above, installed with an antique text of Virgil's Aeneid, from which the phrase “Quo Fata Ferunt” is derived.
